YAN Yuhe,LIU Wali.LIU Wali's clinical experience in treating recalcitrant acne based on syndrome differentiation from multiple perspectives[J]. Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine,2026,45(01):113-115. DOI: 10.16025/j.1674-1307.2026.01.019.
Professor LIU Wali is skilled in treating difficult and complicated dermatological diseases. She believes that when symptoms of recalcitrant acne cannot be improved through conventional traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation, an alternative approach should be adopted. Her approach follows the principle of combining local lesion syndrome differentiation with overall body syndrome differentiation and adjusts treatment according to the physiological characteristics of different age stages from multiple perspectives. Therapeutically, the focus is on the pathogenesis, using methods of clearing the upper body, regulating the middle, warming the lower body, and resolving phlegm while dispelling blood stasis. Treatment is further modified according to the patient's clinical symptoms, with attention to daily skin care, often achieving favorable clinical outcomes.
