Analysis of TCM clinical characteristics of discharged patients with severe COVID-19
Objective To analyze TCM syndrome distribution characteristics of patients with COVID-19 meeting the discharge criteria in Wuhan area in order to guide TCM rehabilitation.Methods 108 cases of severe COVID-19 with abnormal lung imaging discharged from Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and Jiangjun Street Hospital from February 10,2020 to March 14,2020 were selected.At the time of discharge, electronic questionnaire was used to investigate the main TCM symptoms, activity ability, health-related quality of life and psychological status, and to analyze the TCM syndrome characteristics of them.Results The main symptoms of 108 patients were active shortness of breath in 84 cases(77.78%),sleep disorder in 83 cases(76.85%),anxiety in 70 cases(64.81%),depression in 63 cases(58.33%),fatigue in 50 cases(46.30%),cough in 37 cases(34.25%),sticky stool in 22 cases(20.37%),dry stool in 19 cases((17.59%),18 cases of anorexia(16.67%),17 cases of palpitation(15.74%)and 15 cases of muscle pain(13.89%).The remaining 17 cases(15.74%)did not have symptoms of discomfort.About TCM syndromes, lung and spleen qi deficiency type was 64.83%,Qi and Yin deficiency type 35.16%,dampness turbidity type 31.87%,blood stasis type 17.58%.Conclusion The clinical symptoms of severe COVID-19 patients with abnormal lung imaging were mainly shortness of breath after movement, fatigue, sleep disorder and abnormal mental status, and the main TCM syndrome is lung and spleen qi deficiency type.
