Objective To explore the current domestic situation of the adverse events in acupotomy in order to promote the standardization of acupotomy and improve the clinical effect and safety of acupotomy therapy.Methods The method of retrospective journal researching was used.The case report about the adverse events in acupotomy from CNKI,WANFANG,VIP,Sinomed, Pubmed, CENTRAL and Embase databases was retrieved and the types, features, corresponding case numbers, primary diseases, and causes of adverse events were analyzed.Results 181 papers were included, with totally 1 126 cases.The main adverse events occurred mainly in the waist, hip, knee, neck and fingers.It was indicated that the adverse events in acupotomy were mainly postoperative local pain, hematoma, acupotomy syncope, nerve damage, and serious adverse events such as spinal cord injury, visceral injury and even death occurred.Conclusion The safety of acupotomy treatment for some complicated diseases and dangerous parts remains to be improved, and the standardization of the acupotomy is an important approach to improve its safety.The related work needs to be carried out.
