Differentiation and treatment of male infertility based on the principle of "treating overstrain with warming"
Male infertility is a common and challenging condition in men's clinical practice, often characterized by complex and lingering symptoms, manifested as decreased semen quality. It bears some similarity to “overstrain”. The Huangdi’s Internal Classic (Huang Di Nei Jing) first presents "treating overstrain with warming" as a treatment principle for diseases of deficiency and fatigue. This paper combines the theory of "treating overstrain with warming" with male infertility, briefly describing the etiology and pathogenesis of male infertility, particularly insufficient yang qi and cold, clear essential qi. Based on this theory, treatment strategies such as tonifying the kidney and assisting yang, warming yang and dispersing cold, and replenishing the healthy qi are proposed to provide references for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of male infertility.
