MA Rou's experience in treating myeloproliferative neoplasms
Myeloproliferative neoplasms(MPN) are a group of malignant diseases characterized by clonal proliferation of hematopoietic pluripotent stem cells. Professor MA Rou used the circuits and
qi
doctrine to explain the pathogenesis of MPN. The basic pathogenesis of MPN is characterized by the disfunction of
qi
and transformation. The main pathogenesis is characterized by excessive sprouting, growth, transformation and insufficient ripening and storage. Blood stasis is present throughout the disease. Clinically, there is an excess of
qi
in the liver, heart and spleen, occasionally accompanied by a deficiency of
qi
in the lungs and kidneys. Treatment is based on purging excess. Meanwhile attention should be paid to the combination of purging excess and removing blood stasis, while also taking care of the
qi
of the spleen and stomach.
