WANG Yinglin's clinical experience in treating functional constipation in children
Functional constipation in children is a common condition that is challenging to treat due to its prolonged duration and tendency to recur. Professor WANG Yinglin, a fourth-generation pediatrician from a renowned family in Beijing, possesses exceptional medical expertise and has made significant contributions to the treatment of both common and complex pediatric diseases. Professor WANG believes that functional constipation in children primarily results from the accumulation of heat in the liver and stomach, a deficiency in spleen transport, impairment of the lung's purifying and descending functions, and insufficient fluid in the large intestine. He recommends a treatment approach that focuses on calming the liver, promoting spleen function, activating the spleen, moistening the intestine, and clearing residual heat from the lungs.
