Pathogenesis and treatment of autoimmune liver diseases based on the theory of blood turbidity
Autoimmune liver disease (AILD) encompasses a group of chronic liver disorders resulting from abnormalities in the body's immune system. The pathogenesis of AILD remains unclear, and current treatments face challenges such as limited efficacy, high costs, and potential adverse effects. According to the theory of blood turbidity proposed by Professor WANG Xinlu, a renowned expert in traditional Chinese medicine, blood turbidity is considered a significant pathological factor in AILD. Factors such as congenital insufficiency, deficiencies in liver and kidney function, and internal blood turbidity are viewed as underlying causes. Additionally, the interplay of blood turbidity and heat can lead to the formation of phlegm, which contributes to blood stasis-an important pathological change. Therefore, treatment should focus on clearing blood turbidity, adjusting therapies based on individual symptoms, and expelling excess blood turbidity.
