WANG Yaoxian treats type Ⅳ cardiorenal syndrome with yang-warming and stasis-resolving methods
Type Ⅳ cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) falls within the categories of palpitations, dyspnea, edema, phlegm-fluid retention, and water-fluid disorders in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Its core pathogenesis is heart and kidney
yang
deficiency, leading to impaired
qi
transformation and the kidneys' inability to water transformation. The root cause is
yang
deficiency with weakened
qi
transformation, while the manifestation is fluid and blood stasis. Based on this pathogenesis, Professor WANG Yaoxian proposed the therapeutic principle of "warming
yang
and resolving stasis", which can be clinically divided into two aspects,
i.e.
, warming
yang
and transforming
qi
, and promoting diuresis and resolving stasis. Warming
yang
and transforming
qi
aims to replenish
yang
, invigorate
yang
in the heart, spleen, and kidney, regulate
qi
and blood, and restore
qi
transformation function. Promoting diuresis and resolving stasis involves moving water, resolving dampness, activating blood to resolve stasis, dredging the meridians and collaterals, relieving edema, and eliminating stasis. Clinically,
yang
-warming and stasis-resolving methods play an important role in alleviating patient symptoms and improving quality of life.
