DOU Yongqi's experience in treating gastralgia combined with insomnia from the perspective of phlegm and dampness
stless". Gastralgia and insomnia are both common and frequently occurring conditions, and their co-occurrence is very common, often recurrent and difficult to resolve. In clinical practice, these two conditions are often treated separately, resulting in suboptimal outcomes. Based on years of clinical experience, Professor DOU Yongqi has found that these conditions often influence each other and should be treated concurrently. Moreover, their etiology and pathogenesis are interconnected, characterized by "dampness stagnating in the middle Jiao, leading to gastric disharmony and downward movement; dampness-heat complex, phlegm-heat disturbing the heart", with dampness identified as the key etiological factor. Therefore, modified prescriptions based on
Banxia Xiexin Decoction
and
Huanglian Wendan Decoction
are frequently applied, often achieving remarkable therapeutic effects.
