Differentiation and treatment of pan-vascular diseases based on the theory of "qi-pulse continuity"
Pan-vascular diseases are a group of systemic vascular disorders involving multiple vascular beds, and their pathological mechanisms have not yet been fully elucidated. Clinical management emphasizes a multidisciplinary and multisystem comprehensive approach to prevention and treatment, which is highly consistent with the holistic view and syndrome differentiation-based treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The mutual binding of phlegm turbidity and blood stasis represents a key pathological change in pan-vascular diseases, and the for
mation of such pathological products is closely associated with dysregulation of "
qi
-pulse continuity". Based on the theory of "
qi
-pulse continuity", and taking the disordered circulation of
qi
and blood as the starting point, this article analyzes the mechanism of atherosclerosis:the core pathological basis of pan-vascular diseases, from a TCM perspective. It discusses the role of
qi
and blood disharmony in pathological processes including endothelial dysfunction, lipid metabolism disorder, oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and vascular remodeling, from the perspectives of impaired vascular nourishment, phlegm turbidity obstructing the vessels, phlegm-stasis binding within the vessels, vascular obstruction, and invasion of pathogenic factors into the vessels. On this basis, a therapeutic strategy for pan-vascular diseases targeting the maintenance of "
qi
-pulse continuity" is proposed, providing a reference for clinical treatment of pan-vascular diseases.
