Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Cangfu Lotion in treating keratosis eczema of hands and feet externally,which come from the empirical formulas of a famous TCM doctor ZHAO Bing-nan’s. Methods The treatment group of60 cases was treated externally with Cangfu Lotion and white vaseline ointment. The control group of 60 cases was treated with Binghuangfule Ointment. The course of treatment was 4 weeks. The area of skin rash,itching degree and objective index of skin rash were scored every week. The effect was evaluated at the end of the course. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 75. 4 %,and the control group was 76. 8 %. There was no statistical difference between the two groups（ P > 0. 05）.After treatment,the scores of both groups were lower than that before treatment,which were significantly different（ P < 0. 05）.The scores of keratinization,rhagadia,squama and skin lesion were all lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant（ P < 0. 05）. There were no serious adverse reactions in both two groups. Conclusion The clinical effect of Cangfu Lotion in externally treating keratosis eczema of hands and feet is good. It is worthy of clinical application and further development.
