Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of suspension moxibustion combined with acupuncture treatment for knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods Seventy-five confirmed cases of KOA from March 2017 to December 2019 were randomly divided into acupuncture group(25 cases),acupuncture-suspension moxibustion group(25 cases)and microneedle group(25 cases),after excluding shedding cases, 21 cases were included in acupuncture group, 21 cases in acupuncture suspension moxibustion group and 20 cases in microneedle group. The acupuncture group was only treated with needling. The acupuncture-suspenson moxibustion group received acupuncture combined with suspension moxibustion.Mircroneedle group received shallow puncturing on the non-point location. All three groups were punctured with 30 min retention of needle, once every two days, three times every week, and totally 4 weeks were given. The western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)score and total effective rate were compared among the three groups. Results The scores of WOMAC and the total effective rate of acupuncture group and acupuncture-suspension moxibustion group after the treatment was reduced compared with that before the treatment(P<0.05),also lower than that of microneedle group(P<0.05).The score of WOMAC and total score of the acupuncture-suspension moxibustion after the treatment were lower than those in the acupuncture group, but the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The totoal effective rate of the acupuncture group and the acupuncture-suspension moxibustion group were higher than that of the microneedle group(P<0.05),but the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Both single acupuncture and suspension moxibustion combined with acupuncture are effective in the treatment of KOA.
