Objective To investigate the effect of Banxia Xiexin Decoction on glucose and lipid metabolism and insulin secretion in diabetic mice.Methods 8-week-old SPF male C57 BL/6 mice with high-fat diet combined with STZ intraperitoneal injection were used to create models, and they were divided into control group, model group, metformin group, and Banxia Xiexin Decoction low, medium and high dose groups.After 7 weeks of intragastric administration with corresponding liquids, the changes of body weight, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, organ index, blood lipids and fasting insulin levels were observed in each group.Results In different dosage groups of Banxia Xiexin Decoction, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly reduced（P<0.05）,and fasting insulin and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased（P<0.05）.Among them, the middle and high dose groups of Banxia Xiexin Decoction had better effect.Conclusion Banxia Xiexin Decoction can significantly improve glucose and lipid metabolism and promote insulin secretion in diabetic mice.It can be used for the clinical treatment of diabetes, but its mechanism needs to be further explored.
