Objective To observe the effects of combination of acupuncture and drug on basal body temperature（BBT）,menstrual cycle, sex hormones, glucose metabolism and body fat in patients with abdominal obesity polycystic ovary syndrome（PCOS）.Methods Patients with abdominal obesity PCOS were randomly divided into a treatment group of 30 cases and a control group of 28 cases.The control group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine and diet exercise supervision; the treatment group was treated with acupuncture and electroacupuncture on the basis of the control group, and both two groups was treated continuously for 12 weeks.The immunofluorescence method was used to observe testosterone（T）,estradiol（E2）,luteinizing hormone（LH）,and follicle stimulating hormone（FSH）in the two groups before and after treatment, calculate the insulin resistance index（HOMA-IR）,and measure the body weight（BW）,waist circumference（WC）,body mass index（BMI）.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group were 83.33% and 57.14% respectively.The level of estradiol in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the levels of testosterone, follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone and HOMA-IR were lower than those in the control group（P<0.05）.All obesity indicators were improved（P<0.05）,and the improvement effect of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group（P<0.05）.Conclusion The combination of acupuncture and medicine can significantly improve hormone levels in patients with abdominal obesity PCOS,and reduce BW,WC,BMI and insulin resistance.
