Since the onset of winter 2025, influenza cases in Beijing have continued to increase. To further strengthen influenza prevention and treatment, and based on prior experience in influenza diagnosis and management, this protocol was formulated through discussions by the Influenza Expert Group of the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Due to the influence of winter climate and abundant rainfall in the preceding summer and autumn, the early clinical manifestations of influenza this winter are mostly wind-cold constraining the exterior, dry-heat injuring the lung, and concurrent dampness. Severe cases may progress to lung congestion with heat-toxin, or even develop critical patterns of interior collapse and exterior closure. In the later stage, patients often exhibit signs of both qi and yin deficiency.
